What Are The Different Types Of Bottled Water

Bottled water is drinking water, packaged to sell in plastic or glass water bottles. Providing safe drinking water is a must for human consumption in order to avoid any water-borne diseases. The authorities fully regulate bottled water to adhere to extensive food safety and inspection requirements. Bottled water must match the guidelines for safe drinking water.
It is necessary to know what you are buying before you buy it. So next time you buy bottled water, keep these qualities of each type of bottled water in mind to consume safe and healthy water.

These are the different types of bottled water and how they are different from one another:

Distilled water

Distilled water refers to the type of bottled water that has been boiled into vapor and condensed back into a liquid and put in a separate container. In this method of purifying water, the impurities of the original water do not boil below or near the boiling point of water and remain in the original container.
Distillation is one of the most traditional and oldest yet most effective methods of purifying water.

Purified water

Another common type of bottled water you will often see is purified water. It is water that undergoes a bottled water purification process like reverse osmosis. The process of reverse osmosis eliminates chemicals and other harmful substances before putting it into water bottles and selling them.
Purified water is usually produced using groundwater or tap water which is then mechanically filtered to make it suitable and healthy for consumption.

Mineral water

Bottled mineral water is full of nutrients. It contains dissolved minerals like calcium, potassium, iron and so forth. People highly invest in mineral water plants looking at its potential health benefits. As per FDA, Food and Drug Administration, mineral water must contain at least 250 ppm (parts per million) of dissolved solids or minerals and trace elements from the source.
In bottled mineral water, it is not allowed to add minerals during bottling. And any bottled water that artificially adds minerals is not allowed to be labeled as “mineral water”. Ultimately, the mineral composition, potential health benefits, and flavor of mineral water are highly affected by its source.

Springwater is that type of bottled water which requires minimal treatment before it is bottled. Springwater comes directly from natural spring but also contains water that came from a natural underground source. Springwater has a crisp fresh taste coming straight from nature. It is one of the most refreshing types of bottled water available.

Artesian water

Artesian water is groundwater that comes from reservoirs. It contains water in wells under positive pressure. When an artesian aquifer is tapped, the pressure in the aquifer forces water up the well without the use of any mechanical aid. This way aquifers will push water to the surface and may create a permanent fountain. Artesian bottled water is much praised for its pure, clean nature and health benefits.

Glacier water

As the name itself suggests, glacier water is directly sourced from the melted glaciers. Centuries ago, glaciers covered one-third of earth, the remains of which are now being used as a source for bottled water. The glacier water is harvested before it would run into the ocean. Typically, glacier bottled water has extremely low mineral content.

Volcanic water

Volcanic water is filtered through volcanic rocks and boosted with minerals and electrolytes. It is said that the volcanic water contents may help strengthen bone structure, lead to more radiant skin, hair and nails and help blood flow and regulate the body as well.

Sparkling water

Sparkling water is also known as carbonated water because it is water that has been infused with carbon dioxide gas under pressure or occurring due to natural geological processes. This process prompts bubbles in the water and hence also called soda water, seltzer water, and fizzy water. It enhances digestion by reducing constipation and improving swallowing abilities. The downside to drinking sparkling water is that its acidic content may erode your tooth enamel.

Different types of bottled water possess different qualities that make each stand its own unique ground. However, the most popular bottled water is mineral water, so reach out to any mineral water plant manufacturers and have it installed in your homes and workplaces to get the optimum of nutritious and healthy drinking water.
